You Up?

You Up? vs UptimeRobot

Switch from UptimeRobot for three things. The price of the Plan you buy never rises while you keep it. On a paid Plan, you are woken only for an outage that other locations have confirmed. And every alert says where the request stopped, in plain words, with the next step.

The price of your Plan never rises

Every Plan is a fixed version: one price, and the counts it holds. While you stay on the Plan you bought, its price never rises and its counts never shrink. When we improve a Plan, you move to the better version only if every count you have grows. When we make one smaller, you keep the one you bought.

What is locked is the Plan version you bought, not features we add later. Read more about the price lock.

Woken only for a confirmed outage

When a check fails, the location that ran it tries again. If that fails too, the Monitor’s other locations look at once, and an Incident opens only when they confirm it. A failure that one location sees and the others do not is not an outage: it never wakes you, and if it lasts, it shows on the Monitor as a regional outage instead.

Every paid Plan watches from five locations. Free watches from one location, so on Free there is no other location to ask: we try again before we tell you. How a failure is confirmed says more.

Where it stopped, not just “down”

Every alert says how far the request got, in plain words about your own domain, such as “acme.com did not answer.” or “acme.com let us connect, but the secure (https) connection never finished.” Under it is one next step: renew the certificate, check a DNS record, or send a report to your hosting provider. The report is ready to copy into their support ticket.

Where a request stopped shows every place a request can stop.

One cause, one message

When one server goes down and takes several Monitors with it at once, you get one message about them, not one for each. And when a server is down, its certificate check fails too: you hear about the server, not the certificate as well.

Plans differ only in counts

Every paid Plan has every feature. A bigger Plan holds more Projects, Monitors, heartbeats, locations and Members, and nothing else changes. Every Plan alerts by Email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams and Webhook. SMS and WhatsApp need a paid Plan: they spend Credits, and every paid Plan includes some each month.

Questions

Can I use You Up?’s Free plan for a business?

Yes. Free is for any site, a business’s included. UptimeRobot's Free plan may be used for business, not only for personal projects. (help.uptimerobot.com/en/articles/11604710-who-should-use-uptimerobot-s-free-plan, checked 17 October 2026)

Can I run both while I try You Up?

Yes. Point both at the same sites for a week and compare the alerts you get.

What does Free include?

5 Monitors and 5 heartbeats, checked from one location as often as every 30 seconds, a Status page on our domain, and alerts by Email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams and Webhook. No card. SMS and WhatsApp need a paid Plan and Credits. Putting the Status page on your own domain, or hiding its Powered by line, needs a paid Plan too.

Why does Free watch from one location?

Confirming an outage needs other locations to ask. Every paid Plan watches from five locations, and an alert goes out only once they have confirmed it. On Free, we try again before we tell you.

Are these UptimeRobot figures current?
